WIRT COSPLAY

Hi Sparkers! Happy start to Fall (and Spooky Season)! 🎃 I wanted to launch my favorite time of the year by throwing together a Wirt cosplay from the animated show “Over the Garden Wall (OTGW)”

For those who don’t know, OTGW is an animated series that ran on Cartoon Network from one season in the mid 2010’s and it follows two brothers, Wirt and Greg as they make their way through a mysterious forest meeting new people and creators alike. The show is perfect for those that love that spooky autumnal feeling and is great for fans of Gravity Falls and Adventure Time.

Everything I created for this cosplay is from my closet or fabric stash so you can also make your very own Wirt cosplay or Halloween costume!

What you will need:

– Gray Pants

– White button-down shirt

– Black Suspenders

– Blue Fabric

– Red Construction Paper

– Safety Pin

– Gold Button

– 2 Bobby Pins (optional)

For the main part of the outfit:

Just throw on the pants, shirt, and suspenders. It’s already looking great!

For the Cape:

Fold the fabric in half sand which wise and put where it folds in half around your neck. From there attach it with the safety pin to make it like a cape, but be sure not to make it too tight. You can slide the gold button into the safety pin so that it looks as though the button is holding the fabric together.

For the Hat:

Take the construction paper and wrap it around your head so it fits like a cone and take one side to the other. In order to make it more secure, use one bobby pin on either side so it doesn’t move it around as much.

Now that your Wirt cosplay is all done, grab any autumnal props you have (I had a cool lantern), go out there, and take some pictures!
